1957 T-Bird |
Nancy's '57 T-Bird was completely restored in 1994-95 to as reasonable close to CTCI specs as possible.
Nancy's T-Bird is the "D" series, having a 312cu V-8, 4-barrel Holley carburetor, and the Ford-o-matic transmission. It produces 245 horsepower. There were 21,380 Thunderbirds produced in 1957, and 16,423 were the "D" series, but Nancy's T-Bird was given the experimental Thunderbird Bronze "Q" exterior color. This was Ford's first attempt with 'Metallic' paints, and there were only a handful of these cars produced, most of which are no longer on the road. 1957 was the last of the classic two-seater T-Birds, the last one rolling off the assembly line on December 13, 1957, bringing an end to an era.
Nancy is an Author of Action-Adventure Mystery Fiction Novels, and her publisher featured her car on the back cover of her novel "Hidden Mickey: Sometimes Dead Men DO Tell Tales!". She brings it to Car Shows, and was even invited to bring the T-Bird to Disneyland to hold an exclusive Book Signing of her novels. This was the first time Disney ever allowed an author to do this on Disney property, so it was quite an honor. She still brings the car to Book Signing events so enthusiasts of all types can enjoy and appreciate this cool and rare car. Nancy's books are advertised just below the bottom of the photos of the car.
